Design Holidays Christmas Bash

Last Thursday saw Design Holidays have their annual Christmas  bash, for our UK team at the Komedia comedy club in Brighton.

Such nights are always great fun and a real ‘letting our hair down’ exercise , with the opportunity for all at Design Holidays to let off steam and top the fun of previous Christmas bashes, whilst acknowledging the hard work and efforts of a great team in what has been a great year for Design Holidays and our resorts.

This year saw us dine and drink hard and we were well on our way to being merry when the 1st comedian noticed us, as he zoned in on Sara / Niky (2 of our glamorous holiday reservations team), who had unwittingly been enjoying the evening so much they had forgotten to notice they were in prime position to be pulled in to the banter. It was noted to hilarious derision by the audience that the Design Holidays directors have a policy of hiring predominently females and attractive ones at that ! Suffice to say that since Thursday our HR department have been inundated with CV’s from all sorts of men….

As usual at our Design Holidays Christmas bash they always tend to be competitive and the winning expressions with an ‘alcohol theme’, were as per below (although true to form we got so drunk we forgot who actually won it).

“I feel sorry for people who don’t drink. When they Wake up in the morning, that’s
as good as they’re going to feel all day. ”

“When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.”

“24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case . Coincidence? I think not.”

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the wine I drink, I feel shame. Then I look into the
glass and think about the workers in the vineyards and all of their hopes and dreams . If I didn’t drink this wine, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, “It is better that I drink this wine and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver.”

Having asked around the office in a more sober moment this morning we think that the last one won, but we can’t remember who wrote it 🙂

‘Many thanks to the ‘Resort’ which has asked not to be named who kindly sponsored our drinks bill for the night, your generosity discretion are loved by our team in equal measure. (Although I think you did it to stop us from coming to your resort 🙂  ) You can look forward to many great bookings at your resort in 2012 from our fully motivated team !’ says Johnny Barr Director at Design Holidays.

On behalf of all of our Design Holidays team we would like to take this opportunity to thank our staff for all their hard work in the year, to all our resorts for allowing us to be so pro active and competitive, and most importantly to all of our clients who have trusted us with your custom – we never take you for granted and strive to win your custom each year !

Festive Greetings from all of us at Design Holidays and if you do find a moment over the Christmas period where you would like to discuss your family holiday in 2012,  please visit our website (blog.designholidays.co.uk) or contact our Design Holidays Booking team on 01444 87 22 00 / enquiries@designholidays.co.uk
