It was not the first time we stayed at Martinhal and this villa was great. Well ecquipped and located. It was the firfst time we booked holidays with Design Holiday and it was surprisingly easy not only to research but also to book and pay. No hassle at all on arrival with everything ready in reception to receive us and take us straight to the villa with no wait and paperwork.

Relaxing family holiday

Having stayed at the Martinhal in Sagres, we had high expectations. Our villa was spacious and well equipped, plus the small pool was much enjoyed by our six year old son.
The resort itself is well kept, with a shop, pool area, and restaurant that is open until 8.30. Breakfast was great and catered for all requirements.
Customer service is execellent and all the staff are genuinely pleasant and helpful. We had an issue with our hire car and Djores could not have been more helpful in finding an alternative hire company.
We've had a brilliant time and will definitely return.

Our 2bed townhouse was high quality, had all facilities a family would need (dishwasher, washing machine, cloths tea towels etc, kitchen towel, bed guards, travel cot and mattress, toilet step, potty, wifi, beach towels, stair gates, bottle warmer) although it's worth emailing beforehand to request baby related specifics. All kitchen and bathroom reusables were replenished except dishwasher and washing machine tablets.
Pool wasn't fenced but I've been informed most will be by next summer.
Shop not as expensive as I'd expect for a resort shop. Has everything you would need for the holiday.
Reception staff couldn't have been more helpful.
Townhouses are a short 5 min walk from pool area but a slight hill so I'm pleased we bought our stroller even for the 3.5 year old. Villas are closer to pool area.
Kids club staff and facilities excellent.

Great holiday at Marthinhal Quinta, excellent service from the moment we checked in - we had a couple of very minor maintenance issues which were dealt with immediately and staff could not have been more helpful. Villa, pool, gardens were all clean and well maintained. Communal pool area with variety of things to do for the children was excellent and well looked after. Only slight complaint is that the pool side "m" bar restaurant service could have been slightly better it seemed a bit disorganised which was a shame but did not ruin our holiday! great place and would def recommend . thank you .

We have loved our stay st Martinhall. On arrival
- immediately impressed with reception staff and how accommodating and friendly they were . Villa fabulous and daily maid / pool clean service makes a huge difference to holiday - all service staff extremely professional and efficient . Restaurant and club great - very nice set up , very clean , good good and great service there too. Kids club facility a bonus and our little boy loved going there - the girls very friendly and entertaining !

Fabulous holiday, loved the villa. Resort need to make further improvements

The resort still has a way to go to provide more facilities. The kids club is limited and needs to appeal to older ages and have more space for more varied activities. There is no gym or spa. The communal pool area is great and the food was great. The staff were helpful and courteous. There was one particular lady from the kids club that came to babysit for us who was fantastic, the children really warmed to her which meant we could go out for dinner and relax while she put them to bed.
The decor of our villa was excellent so felt better value for money than I expected. However, some villas really need to be bought up to this standard to justify the prices. I would have been very disappointed had we been allocated a villa that was not up to this standard. The pool was freezing, they should be heated to get more enjoyment from them.
We had a great holiday though, this resort is in an excellent location of this very special part of the algarve.

Superb Family Resort

There were 10 of us staying including 4 children between 8 months and 6 yrs 2 grand parents and two couples our package included an extensive buffet breakfast which was superb -- the children apse the to the kids club for four days between 9-30 and 4-39 with lunch provided have encouraged to go giving us all free time-- Martinhal are constantly improving the Resort and we were able to use their Minibus for trips to Restaurants to save driving but the food in the Clubhouse was also good ---Villas are being up graded ours had 5 bedrooms all S suite with a nice pool and garden with views to the golf course and hills in the distance. Probably the only worrying thing was that a he veranda balcony with Three steps down to the pool and garden needed fencing to prevent toddlers falling down them or getting into the pool
