We have stayed at both Abama and Bahia del Duque in Tenerife and it is tough to split them although I may have to say the Abama shades it for me…
I stayed at the Sheraton on a last minute deal based on price. I had no idea if I’d chosen well until I got there and discovered the hotel and the area to be fabulous.
I’ve stayed in many top hotels around the world and I can honestly say that the La Caleta offered true 5* service and amenities with excellent staff. It was a very good recommendation by Design Holidays.
Fortunately, it’s also situated in an up-market area of the island with some good quality restaurants and shops nearby.
Just a short walk from the hotel (which accesses straight onto the promenade) is Playa del Duque. It’s a beautiful beach with beds and thatched umbrellas, restaurants and a shower block. It’s maintained and run by the adjacent 5* Gran Hotel so it’s clean and well looked after.
This is my fourth holiday with Design and I totally trust their recommendations.
The Abama & Bahia del Duque in Tenerife are both truly 5 star resorts but with a suitabkle price tag. We stayed at the 5 star Anthelia Hotel in Tenerife and loved it and I believe Design Holidays also feature it.
